Tables and chairs are provided with the rental to seat up to 60 people, along with a variety of furniture to mix layouts. Easy load-in and load-out with our garage door and private parking lot if you need to bring in additional items.

Wi-Fi and Sonos speakers make it easy to connect your playlist over the network or via AirPlay. Wireless speakers, a projector, and a 120” screen complete the package for a full range of presentation styles.

Rentals can be booked at least 15 days in advance and up to 180 days out.

Factory rentals may add on the kitchenette or meeting rooms for an additional fee.

Full Terms & Conditions must be agreed upon at the time of reservation, and a 50% deposit is required.

Sometimes the calendar is blocked with a gallery exhibit, but events are possible on a case-by-case basis. FAQ

  • The factory can comfortably seat 140 people with a dance floor or buffet area. Maximum occupancy is 200 persons, which will comfortably support a dance party, performance, or other large gatherings.

  • There is a limited amount of spaces in our private lot, including 4 EV charging spaces. The neighborhood has ample free street parking and we’re only a few blocks from Woodward Ave and the Q-line’s Amsterdam Station.

  • Vander demands strict adherence to state laws regarding alcohol consumption. Clients may not serve alcohol to minors on the premises at any time. Client agrees, for everyone’s safety, to the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. A qualified bartender must serve mixed drinks. Private events held at Vander that have no attendance cost can serve alcohol without a liquor license, provided it is not sold to guests. Clients will be responsible for coordinating and entering into any required contracts with properly licensed vendors for alcohol service.

    For avoidance of doubt: if you are selling tickets for attendance or charging for drinks, a liquor license is required.

  • Special Event Liability Insurance is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for all Clients. Should client forego insurance, client agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vander, building owners, tenants, and subsidiaries, from and against all claims, liabilities, losses, damages to property or otherwise, and pay all expenses, of every character whatsoever, resulting from the actions, damage, negligent or otherwise, of Client and/or Client’s Guests.

  • We provide booking in block time with flexible start or end times. As long as you and guests are considerate of our neighbors living nearby and the noise ordinances, you can book the space til as late as you like. In all cases you must clean and vacate the space by the end of your booked time.

  • Our building is serviced by five rooftop heating and air conditioning units of varying ages. The factory space has difficulty maintaining a comfortable temperature on hot days, but the entry and common area are served by two newer units for cooling. An open garage door brings in more warm air; turning the AC down to 55 degrees will not make it work any better, faster, or cooler.

  • One 30 min walk-through is included with your rental. It may be scheduled for planning purposes and at the Vander team's availability. Additional visits outside of the reserved time will be $50/hour.

  • All load-in, setup, cleanup, and breakdown must be completed during your rental time. Please plan accordingly if you need to reserve additional time. 

    The building has a dynamic schedule and may be unlocked while other tenants are open for business. This does not grant you or your guest permission to enter and set up early. Early drop-off accommodations are not guaranteed and may only be confirmed within a week of the rental per the discretion of the Vander team.

  • Breakdown, cleanup, and load-out must all be completed during your rental time. Use of the space that exceeds the rental time will be billed at 1.5x the hourly rate when no rentals are scheduled before or after use and 2.5x the hourly rate when a rental is scheduled beyond the allotted time. 

  • We do our best to be reachable during events if an issue arises, but we don't have an on-site team to provide vendor access, receive deliveries, or support your event. Access is provided through our lock system. The client is responsible for reading communications with instructions and information before the rental.

  • Vander will be in a clean condition before your booking. You are required to return the space to the same clean condition in which you found it. Cleaning supplies are provided. All trash must be collected and placed in the dumpsters, and the furniture must be arranged to its original locations. All outside equipment must be removed at the end of the rental. A fee of $150/hour will be imposed for any required cleaning or furniture arrangements not handled.
