Mutual Assembly: OPENING NIGHT generative art exhibition by Creative Coding Detroit

The opening night event will celebrate multiple facets of the exhibition: CCDET’s first show and introduction to the public and Detroit’s cultural scene, what is (quite possibly) the first show featuring exclusively hand-coded visual art by Detroit-based artists in the city’s history, and the incredible musical and visual talent of the group. CCDET members will DJ the event opening with live algorithmic dance music, showcasing the sonic side of code-based expression.

Prioritize Play: Book Release

Vander is excited to host author Rachael Renae’s book release event!

Curating the kind of big, juicy life that sparks joy, connection, and fulfillment isn’t chasing the title of “creative”, it’s prioritizing your play! Through introspection and fun challenges, you’ll see that play is the solution toward overcoming our creative blocks, caring less about what people think of us, and showing ourselves that we do deserve to prioritize our creative ideas. Even when they don’t make money. Even if we’re not “good” at them. Even if they’re not a “traditional” creative outlet.

Showing Up for Yourself: Zine Launch & Self-Care Experience

Planned Parenthood of Michigan (PPMI) is hosting an intentional self-care event centered on rest, wellness, and community. Chronic stress can take a serious toll on the body over time, contributing to faster biological aging and increased health risks. This gathering is designed to create space for women of color to slow down, embrace stillness, and prioritize their well-being.

This is a free, community-centered self-care event. There will be a brief sound bowl cleansing by Christen of Self Care Sanctuary, an hour of guided yoga with Paradise Asha, a vision board facilitation, and a Gender Affirming Clothing Closet by Brianna of PPMI.

Light bites and giveaways will be provided. We encourage you to bring a yoga mat, though a limited number will be available. Come as you are and take time for yourself!
